What is Physiotherapy?
To me, Physiotherapy is the restoration of pain-free, optimal function and movement. To educate and empower everyone to understand how your body should and shouldn’t move and what it feels like to be in true control of your body.
What is your personal approach?
My approach is a proactive, preventative approach to the body as a whole. Rather than waiting for an injury to occur and then reacting to try and fix it as quickly as possible. My dream is for everyone to consider the necessary steps and actions they can take to reduce the risk of these injuries happening in the first place?
What can you expect from a session with you?
In the first instance, we assess your movement, strength, function and posture. Abnormalities are identified and a treatment plan is prescribed. I provide an integrated service, using a combination of Physiotherapy, Sports Massage, Myofascial Release, Dry Needling, Corrective postural exercise as well as rehabilitation and Strength and conditioning exercises. What you can expect in each session is assessment, treatment, education and exercise prescription. I don’t believe in using only one method alone, I use many in conjunction with each other to ensure optimal results are obtained.
What is sports massage?
A sports massage is a great manual tool for anyone! Don’t be fooled by the name, sports massages are not just for those who are ‘sporty’. A sports massage consists of many different techniques to manipulate the body tissue, improving blood flow , promoting tissue healing to prevent injury and aid recovery.
What is Myofascial Release?
It is a manual technique where the use of slow, sustained stretching of the bodies muscular connective tissue (myofascial) is used to reduce Myofascial tension, pain and to restore optimal movement and function.
